The agent of Hamburg forward Tatsuya Ito has told the German media Bundesliga sides are taking an interest in his client.
The Japanese player will be out of contract with the German side next summer, and has been linked with a move to Manchester City in recent weeks. Frankfurt, Augsburg, Mainz and Freiburg are also showing an interest in Ito.
Speaking to Hamburger Morgenpost, Jun Yamazaki confirmed other Bundesliga sides were watching Ito, but they still hope to sign a new contract with Hamburg: “The interest from the Bundesliga is known to us, but Tatsuya would like to stay with HSV. We are in very good talks and hope for a speedy agreement.”
Ito signed for Hamburg two seasons ago, and at the time Manchester City were also trying to sign the 20 year old. Manchester City came in with an offer for the forward, but he took the decision to head to Germany.
However, the German media recently reported despite Pep Guardiola now being the manager at the Etihad it seems Manchester City are still showing an interest in Ito, and they could look to land him on free next summer, when his contract expires at Hamburg.
Serie A giants Inter Milan are also reported to be interested in Ito.
