Sporting’s Geovany Quenda is expected to complete a move to Manchester United in the summer window.

That’s according to Wednesday’s edition of A Bola, who cover Manchester United’s interest in the 17-year-old when going over Sporting’s plan for next season.

The Lions have seen director Hugo Viana leave and appointed Bernardo Morais Palmeiro as his successor. The latter has to work with chief scout, Flávio Costa, to shape up the squad ahead of next season.

When discussing the Portuguese club’s potential exits, the report states they are aiming for record sales of around €150-200m. The majority of the fee can be earned from the sales of Quenda and Viktor Gyökeres.

A Bola claims it’s ‘inevitable’ for the young winger, who can also operate as a wing-back, will leave Sporting after this season. They add his sale should help his club collect around €60m and Manchester United have ‘reserved’ the player.

The youngster will turn 18 years of age in April and it’s presented as near likely that he makes the move.

Quenda made his first team debut for Sporting under Ruben Amorim at the start of this season. He can reunite with the manager at Manchester United, should this one go all the way.
