Chelsea midfielder Cesare Casadei remains a ‘tasty morsel’ that Torino may be tempted to bite at, if they can secure a sale first.

That’s according to Tuttosport, who say Napoli’s apparent step back and towards Phillip Billing could leave the path clear for Torino to get Casadei.

The Italian remains out of the picture at Chelsea under Enzo Maresca this season. The Blues boss admitted in his press conference this week that they were looking at alternative options for the youngster to get playing time elsewhere.

Torino could be one of them and consider Casadei a ‘tasty morsel’, particularly now that Napoli have loosened their grip and gone elsewhere.

He would be even more tempting if they could ‘sacrifice’ a player in the middle of the park this month. That could be midfielder Ivan Ilic, who has interest from Spartak Moscow.

He’s been followed by Russian teams for a while after Zenit showed an interest in the summer and if he were to depart, that would open up the door to a move for Casadei.

Whether they would pay the €15m Chelsea have asked of Napoli isn’t mentioned, but the interest is there if Ilic or someone else were to move on.
