Arne Slot’s one weakness is his people management, with the Liverpool manager not really taking on a personal relationship with his players.

That’s according to Alireza Jahanbakhsh, via Soccer News, who worked under the Dutch coach at Feyenoord and AZ Alkmaar.

Slot has been earning rave reviews since joining Liverpool in the summer as Jurgen Klopp’s replacement at Anfield.

Many had predicted trouble for the Dutch coach ahead of his move to Liverpool, believing that it would be impossible to replace the German coach given the work he’d done at the club during his time there.

Klopp is undoubtedly among the greatest Liverpool managers in history after delivering a sixth Champions League triumph, a first tile in 30 years and practically rebuilding the club into a major force once again.

He is revered on the red half of Merseyside, having built up a rapturous relationship with the fanbase and the majority of the players who worked under him.

Filling those shoes was no mean task but Slot appears to be doing it with ease for now, although Jahanbakhsh believes he could take a lea out of his predecessor’s book to improve one remaining flaw.

“In terms of people management, he can still improve a bit,” he said.

“He is a control freak with many things, but not really with personal things of players.  Furthermore, he wants to know everything.  What is happening inside and outside the club, the fans, the media.

“He is a real perfectionist.  That can sometimes be a bit too much, but in the end, he achieves results with it everywhere.”
