There’s a claim in the Turkish media that Tottenham Hotspur attacker Son Heung-min remains a target for Galatasaray ahead of next summer.
The South Korea international has recently been linked with a move to the Turkish champions following the long-term injury to Mauro Icardi. The Argentine is expected to be sidelined for up to nine months with a serious knee injury, and with his personal life again in disarray his future generally is uncertain.
A Spor now report on the latest developments regarding Galatasaray’s pursuit of the Tottenham star and they say the Istanbul side are looking to take advantage of the player’s contract situation.
Son’s contract expires in the summer, but Spurs have the option to extend it for another season. There have been recent reports that Son is unhappy with the situation and would rather be given a longer contract via a negotiations process.
Subsequently Cimbom could look to make an approach for the forward if his situation at Tottenham isn’t resolved. However, they will expect to face competition from other clubs.
A Spor report Galatasaray have ‘taken action’ to sign Son, which is likely making contact via intermediaries, and it’s stated the Super Lig club want to conclude a deal for a ‘reasonable fee’.
Son has made 16 appearances this season, scoring five goals, and the likelihood is that Galatasaray’s opinion on what a reasonable fee is would differ greatly from Tottenham’s view.
