Manchester City considered signing Juventus Andrea Cambiaso before he signed a new deal back in May.
That’s according to Tutto Juve, who state Manchester City have now returned for the 24-year-old.
Cambiaso prefers to operate as a left-back and while he has mainly played in that role, Thiago Motta has also used him as a right-back on a few occasions this season.
The Italy international’s displays for the Serie A side have caught the attention of a few clubs. The report states Manchester City have been added to this list without mentioning the details of other clubs.
Manchester City have continued to monitor the versatile player, with it being claimed Pep Guardiola likes him ‘very much’.
Tutto Juve add the Premier League winners would be ‘willing to invest a significant sum’, without any mention of the fee they are ready to spend for Cambiaso.
His deal lasts until 2029, and the Turin club have no plans to part ways with the fullback.
At the weekend, Cambiaso picked up an injury and Juve are monitoring his condition for Wednesday’s Champions League clash against Manchester City.
There’s every chance this rumour is being edged out there as part of the build up to that game.
