Everton ‘never entered the bidding process’ for Almería’s Largie Ramazani, despite claims suggesting they were interested.

That’s according to Diario de Almería, who say Everton were never in the race and the Spanish side are actually working on a renewal for the player.

They explain that there could be a 180 degree turn on the cards for Ramazani as he could now be set to sign a new contract at the club.

The newspaper relays information from Sacha Tavolieri, who reports that Almería are looking into renewing Ramazani’s contract, which is due to expire next year.

The club have had the option of cashing in on the forward this summer, with AEK Athens, Leeds and Besiktas all having tried to sign him.

None of those proposals have been successful and Diario de Almería add another name into the mix, Everton.

They report that while the Toffees have been extensively linked with a potential move for Ramazani, they ‘never entered the bidding process’ for him at any point. In other words, their apparent interest was only ever that, apparent.

Whether that’s because Everton have spent their money elsewhere and signed other forwards such as Jesper Lindstrom and Jack Harrison, isn’t mentioned.

Either way they never moved for Ramazani, and he could now be set to sign a new deal at Almería instead.
