Portuguese newspaper O Jogo today reports Leicester City and Wolverhampton Wanderers interest in David Carmo.
The defender, who belongs to FC Porto, just had a positive loan spell at Olympiacos, and that was good enough to draw interest from some clubs.
The Greek side could still battle Leicester City and Wolves for the signing, as they have an €18m buying option over Carmo.
That possibility isn’t ruled out, but it seems Olympiacos are still to make a decision over what they’ll as €18m is a lot of money for them.
When Porto loaned him out to Olympiacos, they clearly didn’t have him in their plans, and now see the defender being ‘reborn’ with a good year in Greece.
It also remains to be seen how much the Dragons demand in case they engage in negotiations with Leicester City and Wolves. Carmo is protected by a €80m, and that leaves the Portuguese side with a very good margin of negotiation in the talks.
The 24-year-old was linked to Liverpool earlier in his career, but a broken ankle saw him out for nearly a year and disrupted his progression. Now it appears he’s starting to fulfil his potential.
