Getafe president Angel Torres has gone public with his desire to sign Mason Greenwood from Manchester United again this summer.

The Spanish businessman has been speaking to Radio Marca about the forward as the summer looms and a decision has to be made about his future.

Greenwood has been on loan with Getafe from Manchester United and enjoyed himself in La Liga, managing eight goals and six assists in 29 appearances to date.

The Spanish side do not have an option to sign him on a permanent basis included in their loan deal, so negotiations are needed in the summer if they wish to keep him.

Various reports in Spain have indicated that they would like to do a deal with Manchester United and are not the only ones either, with several other sides reportedly eyeing up the 22-year-old after watching his performances this season.

It’s not been fully clear what Manchester United want to do, though, with those in charge at Old Trafford dancing around the subject at this moment in time rather than making a definitive decision on the forward’s future.

Torres says otherwise, though, insisting the Red Devils have made their choice and he wants to take advantage of it.

“If it depends on the parents and the club, I think he will continue another year,” he said.

“Manchester’s idea is to sell if there is a good offer, we will have to wait. I think he will stay.”

Getafe are likely hoping for another loan deal, with the levels of a permanent transfer perhaps being too high for them.
