Over the past few weeks, there have been a number of stories suggesting that Leeds United were eyeing up a deal to bring Michy Batshuayi back to England.
The Belgian forward has managed to rekindle his career over in Turkey with Fenerbahçe, and with his contract ending at the end of the season (his club do have an option to extend that by a year), the Elland Road side were eyeing up a potential bargain deal.
However, according to Fanatik, Fenerbahce are going to ensure that doesn’t happen, with it claimed they are moving to try and fend off Leeds.
They want him to sign a new contract, and will sit down with the striker to negotiate a deal to keep him around for the foreseeable future.
After many years struggling to impress at Chelsea, Batshuayi eventually left the Blues in a €3.5m deal in 2022, and has contributed with 21 goals and three assists in 36 appearances for Fenerbahce this season, which is exactly why Leeds will have been interested in him to help out Daniel Farke’s squad in the next campaign.
