New Beşiktaş President Hasan Arat has rejected a potential move for Burnley striker Wout Weghorst, as he’s still annoyed by the striker leaving for Manchester United in January.
That’s according to Takvim, who report the president saying “I will not take back someone who left us” when the possibility of a reunion was brought up.
They explain that Beşiktaş have started the countdown towards the January transfer window, creating a list of potential targets to strengthen their squad in the winter window.
Wout Weghorst was offered to the Black Whites through agents, but it seems a move for the Burnley striker, who is currently out on loan, was rejected by President Hasan Arat.
He ‘immediately rejected’ this offer and is quoted as saying “we have nothing to do with the man who left Beşiktaş. I will not take him back.”
He, it seems, it still frustrated by Weghorst’s decision to break his loan deal with Beşiktaş, who he had joined from Burnley last summer, to join Manchester United in January after his exploits at the World Cup.
The striker is now on loan at Hoffenheim but has struggled so far with four goals and one assists in 14 games this season and it appears his agents are again looking at the market, but it won’t be taking him back to Beşiktaş.
