Towards the end of the summer window, Brøndby IF rejected Celtic’s €4m bid for Mathias Kvistgaarden. Brendan Rodgers’ side were keen on bringing him to Celtic Park and were also willing to raise their offer but received no encouragement from the Danish club.
Back in September, the forward said he was flattered with claims of interest from Rodgers’ side links and also hailed Celtic as “insanely exciting and a huge club”.
Well, Celtic are back in the mix for the 21-year-old if a report from Tipsbladet is to be believed.
This information is provided by Tipsbladet edition-in-chief Troels Bager Thøgersen and he shares an additional information about Celtic.
“I know from good sources in Scotland that Celtic are back in the game [for Kvistgaarden],” he said.
Rodgers want more options in the attack and this has seen Celtic return for the Denmark U21 international as he can operate as a striker and can also be used on both wings.
Apart from Celtic, Thøgersen adds unnamed Bundesliga sides, along with a few clubs from England and France also have the Dane on their agenda.
The journalist further claims Brøndby don’t intend to let the player go for cheap and are requesting €10m to sanction the player’s sale.
Kvistgaarde has managed five goals and seven assists from 19 games this season.
