Brighton have chance to sign star and build future – Club treating him like a commodity

Brighton & Hove Albion will seemingly be given the chance to sign Ansu Fati on a permanent basis in the summer as Barcelona eye up a sale.

That’s according to Sport, who cover the player today and how Barcelona are treating him like a commodity ahead of next summer.

The newspaper explains that Fati continues to ‘have a pull’ in the transfer market, despite spending most of last season sat on the bench.

He is currently valued at around €35m on the market, a low figure given how he was once so highly rated, but still one that makes him a ‘very important’ asset for the Blaugrana next summer.

Their hope is that he can revalue himself at Brighton this season, gain confidence and again show his ability to the world in the hope it draws up interest in him.

For now, he’s only playing a substitute role but there is plenty of time for that to change and Brighton give him more chances as the season progresses.

The loan at Brighton is part of the Blaugrana club ‘very carefully handling’ Fati’s future, as they consider him an important asset ahead of next summer when they want to either use him in an exchange operation or sell him in a major transfer.
