Player has ‘reconsidered’ transfer to Leeds United and move could happen quickly

Leeds United’s pursuit of Bayer Leverkusen midfielder Nadiem Amiri is still on, according to the latest claims from Germany.

Kicker reports that even though the player had called off the transfer, he has now ‘reconsidered’ the move.

It’s claimed Amiri can ‘at least’ imagine joining Leeds and Daniel Farke, and is warming to the idea. That’s why the fans who’ve been tracking flights from Dusseldorf to Leeds may not be wrong after all.

The story explains that the midfielder had concerns about the Whites’ start to the season, and since he doesn’t want to spend more than one year in a second division, he had given up on the move.

However, Leeds’ 4-3 win over Ipswich Town seems to have changed his mind, as the move offers him a ‘sporting and financial opportunity’.

Kicker also claims that Amiri wouldn’t have a place at Bayer Leverkusen, and that would only make it more difficult to get a big transfer next summer.

At Leeds, he could even get a pay rise in case of promotion at the end of the season. It’s said that in case he gives a positive answer, the transfer ‘should go ahead quickly’.

The Whites would pay Bayer a €6m fee, including bonuses, with the player signing a four-year deal.
