Bayern Munich managed Thomas Tuchel is ‘desperate’ to sign Declan Rice from West Ham United this summer after a transfer meeting with the player.
That’s according to Sport 1, who say that the midfielder and his family ‘have been informed’ that Bayern are positioning themselves for potential negotiations with West Ham after the Conference League final.
They explain that the German champions are ‘ready to make a top offer’ for him, but any move will depend on the player’s wishes.
Tuchel is desperate to have Rice as a number six in his team and those in charge at Säbener Straße are also keen to grant him this wish.
That was a first meeting with the West Ham man and ‘left a positive impression’ on everyone involved. Indeed, Rice ‘can well imagine’ a move to Munich.
That means Tuchel and co are ‘confident’ they can get their man, despite reports that he would prefer a move to Arsenal as it will allow him to keep living in London.
No move is being arranged as yet, though, as Rice is completely focused on the Europa Conference League final with West Ham, the ‘most important game in his club career so far’.
That takes precedence over everything else for now and once it is done, transfer negotiations will get underway, with Bayern prepared to pay West Ham’s €100m valuation.
