Christian Eriksen’s last appearance for Manchester United came in their FA Cup win over Reading on January 28th.
The Denmark international picked up an ankle injury following a tackle from Reading striker Andy Carroll. Three days later, the Red Devils confirmed the 31-year-old will be out of action until “late April or early May”.
Eriksen’s setback saw Manchester United sign Marcel Sabitzer on loan from Bayern Munich on deadline day of the winter market.
Manchester United sealed a 1-0 win over Real Betis on Thursday. After the tie, TV2 Sport in Denmark asked Erik ten Hag about an update on Eriksen’s injury situation.
Manchester United have done well so far in Eriksen’s absence, winning the EFL Cup and making it to the Europa League quarter-final.
The midfielder’s expected return next month will be a massive boost for Ten Hag and the English club, especially with Casemiro suspended for the next four domestic games.
Eriksen has managed two goals and nine assists from 31 matches in all competitions this season.
