PSV Eindhoven are eyeing up a move for Chelsea forward David Fofana, despite him having only recently joined the Blues.
That’s according to Sport Italia, who say the Dutch side are looking to take the youngster on loan for the rest of the season.
Fofana is set to join Chelsea on January 1st after completing a €12m move from Molde earlier this week.
Chelsea moved quickly to secure the 20-year-old’s signature after an impressive campaign in the Eliteserien that saw him score 15 goals and register five assists in 24 games, as well as bagging two goals in four games in the Conference League.
Fofana is very much a player for the future, and it remains to be seen what Chelsea’s plans are for him moving forwards, particularly with their current squad lacking an out and out goalscorer.
It seems unlikely that Graham Potter would be willing to throw the youngster into the mix straight away and PSV want to take advantage of that.
According to Sport Italia, they have ‘set their sights’ on the forward and ‘would like’ to pick him up on loan for the remainder of the season.
Whether that’s something Chelsea are interested in isn’t mentioned, but they have regularly sent players to the Eredivisie to develop down the years and several have been at PSV, so there is a link there to be exploited if they are open to it.
