Everton midfielder Allan ‘will leave’ the club this summer, but the chances of joining Maurizio Sarri at Lazio are looking slim.

That’s according to Corriere Dello Sport, who say the player’s age and high wages at Goodison Park could see Lazio look elsewhere.

With Everton in the middle of a relegation battle and looking very likely to go down at the end of the season, a mass exodus is expected at the club this summer.

Even if they manage to stay up, there is a belief that Frank Lampard and new director of football Kevin Thelwell will look to clear house, and Allan is one of those who has been linked with a move away.

He’s set to enter the final year of his contract this summer, and there have been numerous suggestions that Lazio could be keen to reunite him with Maurizio Sarri, who he played his best football under at Napoli.

However, Corriere throw a spanner in the works today. They say that Allan ‘will leave’ Everton this summer, but Lazio may no longer be his destination.

While he offers different ‘physical characteristics’ to what Lazio have and so is therefore attractive, he receives a ‘very high salary’ at Everton.

These are seen as ‘prohibitory conditions’ for Lazio to meet, and they are also ‘more oriented’ towards younger players as they plan for the summer.

In short, Allan will definitely be leaving Everton, but at the moment, Lazio think he’s too old and too expensive to consider making a move for him.
