Fulham midfielder Franck Zambo Anguissa could be playing for Real Madrid or Bayern Munich if he could score goals more often.
That’s according to Cameroon coach Toni Conceição, who has lavished praise on the midfielder amid his continued impressive performances for Napoli.
The midfielder left Fulham to join Napoli on loan at the end of the summer transfer window, despite the Cottagers best attempts to keep him.
It is his second loan spell since joining Fulham from Marseille in August 2018, having also spent a season on loan with Villarreal in 2019/20.
They’re already very keen to sign him on a permanent basis, with a move looking likely in the January transfer window if he continues how he’s started.
That remains to be seen, but in the meantime, he continues to be praised from all angles, including by his national team coach.
“I tell you the truth, his great performance with Napoli is not surprising me,” he told Tuttomercatoweb.
“I’ve known him since Villarreal, and it’s no coincidence that he’s already been part of my national team for two years: Anguissa is an excellent addition to the Azzurri; you can be sure of that.
“Have you seen how many balls Frank recovers in every game? I think that when he’s 100% fit, he’ll be able to perform even better.
“Catching the ball and breaking the game of the opponents is his main quality, but Anguissa is also smart in starting the action and organizing the manoeuvre. I consider him an almost complete midfielder.
“If Anguissa also had goals, considering his intensity of play, he would already play for Real Madrid or Bayern Munich!
“Maybe with an offensive coach like Spalletti, he will improve in the offensive phase as well, in addition to growing tactically in a strategic league like Serie A.”
