Earlier on Wednesday, we covered the latest regarding Tottenham and their desire to sign Franck Kessié.

It’s quite clear the midfielder is one of the players Fabio Paratici is looking at as a last minute gift to Nuno Espirito Santo, with both Nahitan Nandez and Weston McKennie seen as alternatives.

However, they face the tough task of convincing Milan, since the Serie A club have no intention of letting their player leave, regardless of the fact his contract at the club expires next summer.

They have tried to renew him, to no avail, as George Atangana, the midfielder’s agent, has asked for a €7m/year wage + €1.5m in easily attainable bonuses, which the Italians aren’t prepared to pay.

Kessié himself said he was ready to ‘fix everything’ when he returned from the Olympics, but that hasn’t been the case at all, and Corriere dello Sport wonder whether Paratici has anything to do with that.

It’s explained that ‘perhaps behind this change of strategy would be the phone calls’ from both the Tottenham director of football and that of Leonardo, head of transfer business at Paris Saint-Germain.

Now, Milan face themselves with a situation they wanted to avoid: allowing him to leave on a free.

They already had to see Gianluigi Donnarumma and Hakan Calhanoglu depart without seeing a penny in compensation transfer fee wise, and the same could happen with Kessie.

And if Paratici had a quick chat with him with a promise of a bigger wage at Tottenham if he holds out another year in Milan, then it could end up being a great deal for Spurs.
