Saturday’s edition of Mundo Deportivo claims Everton ‘have been interested in signing’ Barcelona goalkeeper Neto.
The 31-year-old’s future at the Camp Nou remains ‘uncertain’. Even through the La Liga side want to retain him, the former Juventus man is looking at the exit door.
The Brazilian wanted to leave the Catalan club in the winter market, and his idea to change clubs has not changed for this summer.
If the keeper receives an ‘interesting proposal’ from a club, where he can have a ‘leading role’, he will again ask the Spanish club to let him leave.
Mundo points out that in the last few hours, there’s been ‘speculation in England’ about Everton’s interest in signing the South American.
Barca took the South American from Valencia in a deal worth €35m. Since he arrived at the Camp Nou, the custodian has been a backup for Marc-André ter Stegen.
His ‘transfer is yet to be amortised’, and taking the current climate into account, Ronald Koeman’s side cannot ask for a high figure for Neto.
Barca are hopeful of recovering part of the fee they invested in Neto’s signing.
