Arsenal are reportedly monitoring Brazilian striker Yuri Alberto.
According to Globo Esporte, the Gunners have been watching the 20-year-old’s evolution for a long time, just like Spanish giants Barcelona.
It’s said Yuri Alberto first caught Arsenal’s attention in 2017, when still playing for Santos, during a youth tournament. After that, the Premier League side even got in touch with the player’s staff, but things didn’t advance.
The centre-forward left Santos at the end of his contract in 2020 and joined Internacional. He’s been doing pretty well for the club since then, with seven goals in 20 appearances this season so far.
Globo Esporte confirms recent claims from the Catalan media and say he’s also on Barcelona’s radar. However, neither Arsenal or Barça have contacted Internacional regarding a move so far.
It’s claimed the Brazilian side expect to make around €15m with the sale, although his entourage believe he’s worth up to €20m. He’s considered to be Inter’s player with the biggest potential for a transfer, since he’s previously played for the national team’s youth ranks and has European citizenship.
