Percy Tau has been associated with Brighton & Hove Albion since the summer of 2018, but he has so far not represented the Premier League club.
The South Africa international has failed to meet the necessary criteria to obtain a work permit to play in England, which is why the Seagulls have sent him out on loan in the last three summer windows.
Graham Potter’s side allowed the attacker to join Anderlecht on a season-long loan deal, and the agreement between the two sides includes a clause that will allow the English club to recall the 26-year-old in January.
On December 15th, reports coming out of Belgium explained Vincent Kompany’s side have take into account the possibility of Tau’s loan deal being cut short in the winter market.

Tau gets a mention and so does the clause that will allow his parent club to recall him. According to the report, Brighton ‘would like to activate’ it so that the player can be included in Potter’s plans for the second half of the season.
It’s claimed ‘Brexit risks upsetting transfers for English clubs’ because it will make it difficult for English clubs to buy European players.
At the same time, it will make it ‘easier’ for Asian, African and South American players to play in the Premier League. Therefore, DH adds, the new rules will finally help Tau obtain a work permit to represent Brighton in 2021.
