West Ham United have entered the race for Inter Milan midfielder Christian Eriksen, who is exceedingly likely to leave the club in January.
The Danish star has found himself increasingly out of the picture under Antonio Conte this season, with it believed the Italian coach simply doesn’t see him fitting into his style or tactics.
This is something Eriksen is aware of, and he is keen to move in January to get regular playing time ahead of the European Championships next summer.
Inter, though, believe that finding a club who will buy him permanently will be difficult so have accepted that a loan deal may be the best option for all parties.
The newspaper states that so far, the only ‘real offer’ for Eriksen since last summer came from Hertha Berlin.
That came to nothing and now the ‘only possible landing place’ seems to be in the Premier League, where he, of course, played for Tottenham for seven years.
Arsenal are name-checked again, but West Ham are now also keen, with it stated that they are ‘looking at’ the midfielder as a possible January signing.
Whether Eriksen would be interested in a West Ham move is up for debate but he would undoubtedly be the kind of creative addition David Moyes needs, with Pablo Fornals and Manuel Lanzini coming up short in that regard.
The competition may be stiff, though, particularly if Arsenal decide that a swap deal including the likes of Granit Xhaka makes a tonne of sense for them.
