Pretty much slap bang in the middle of the Championship after five games, Stoke City are looking to improve on last season’s 15th place.
Unlike a lot of clubs around them, the Potters didn’t spend a lot of money during the last transfer window, totalling just under £2m in expenditures, all given to Barnsley FC for Jacob Brown.
Other than that, Morgan Fox, James Chester, Steven Fletcher and John Obi Mikel all arrived on a free, while Angus Gunn was brought in from Southampton on loan.
However, they may have their eye on a move for next season already, if France Football are to be believed, as they are keeping an eye on a young winger.
According to the French magazine, Stoke aren’t the only ones after him, with both Stuttgart in the Bundesliga and Nîmes in Ligue 1 following his progress, but it’s the Championship side who ‘sent a scout’ to watch the 20-year-old’s game against FC Wil on Tuesday night.
For those wondering, that fixture ended in a 2-1 win for Mbock’s club, as the forward started the game at right-midfield and played 85 minutes.
France Football also add his contract with Angers runs until 2023, so any transfer in the near future would have to involve some kind of money.
