Celtic fought their way to a 1-1 draw with Borussia Monchengladbach on Tuesday night, with Brendan Rodgers’ men coming back from a goal down thanks to a Moussa Dembele penalty.
The match was played at Gladbach’s Borussia Park and a 24 year old Celtic fan was unfortunately injured in what is being described as a ‘serious accident’. German newspaper Westdeutsch Zeitung report that the Celtic supporter was hurt after a fall at the stadium.
It’s explained the unnamed fan was trying to move to a lower Celtic seating area and climbed over the barrier, only then to fall and suffer serious facial injuries. Initially unconscious, the fan was taken to hospital to be treated as an impatient.
There’s no further update on the condition of the young Celtic follower, but it’s stated that there’s not a suspicion of third party involvement and the police are treating it as an accident, rather than looking for anyone else.
