Manchester City allowed Philippe Sandler to go out on loan to Anderlecht this season but his development at the Belgian club has been cut short due to a knee injury.
The centre-back underwent knee surgery in December after consulting with the Premier League winners, and it was then reported that he would be out of action for two months. However, the 23-year-old is yet to return to action.
Het Laatste Nieuws now claims ‘he is in the final phase’ of his recovery and the Dutchman has landed in Brussels again. The player has already started training individually and his return to Anderlecht feels ‘like a new face’ at the club.
The newspaper states the Belgian side expect the Manchester City owned player to return to the starting XI, ‘at the earliest’, for the play-offs.
Sandler’s return from injury should come as a positive news for the Etihad club and Anderlecht.
