It’s been a while since we’ve had a new goalkeeper target for Everton mentioned in the European press, but Tuttosport on Thursday have given us one.

With Tim Howard being pushed to one side and leaving for the Colorado Rapids in the MLS and Joel Robles never really making the position his own, changes were always to be expected in the position this summer.

One of the most popular targets seemed to be Marseille’s Steve Mandanda, who made it clear he would not be continuing at the French club beyond this season, but with the Euros getting in the way, it seems other targets have been evaluated.

Among these targets is Juventus’ goalkeeper (no, not Gigi Buffon) Neto, who spent most of the season watching the great Italian from the bench.

The Brazilian shot stopper is said to have a few offers in front of him, which would allow Juventus to make a nice little profit, but none of them are particularly exciting.

Tuttosport make it clear the best of these offers comes from Ronald Koeman’s new club, but with Neto not exactly thrilled by his options, it seems Everton might need to prove more persuasive.

That said, with the new money backing the Merseyside club, we would be expecting them to be pursuing more high-profile targets.
