Who thought a move to Arsenal would be the start of a player’s decline?

That’s pretty much what happened to Marouane Chamakh, who, following his failed move to the Emirates, saw his career take a steady drop.

A loan to West Ham followed by a similarly unsuccessful £1m move to Crystal Palace means he only scored 15 goals in 103 Premier League games, and the 32-year-old is now unattached.

His last league goal came on the 24th of May 2015 in a 1-0 win for the London club over Swansea, and now looking for another club, a new destination has allegedly opened itself to him.

Palermo in Italy are currently looking for a striker, and Corriere dello Sport believe the man they are keeping an eye on is the former Bordeaux star.

The situation is rather ideal, as the club are trying to get more depth up front, and if they can convince an ex-Arsenal player to join them at no extra cost, it would make for a nice little coup.

The player is currently on trial with West Brom, and recently played 63 minutes of their U23 game against Brighton, which the Baggies won 1-0.

Palermo might have to move fast if the Moroccan starts to impress Tony Pulis.
