Despite the initial optimism that Inter Milan would be signing Danilo from Manchester City this summer, it seems like things aren’t moving so fast now.
Italian website Calcio Mercato recalls today that the Nerazzurri even had an agreement with the player, and opened talks with the Premier League champions for the move.
But now it’s reported that Inter are having trouble to afford the price demanded by Manchester City. It’s claimed that the initial demand was €35m, and has now dropped to €30m.
That is considered to be too much for Inter Milan, who have put the transfer ‘on standby’. They now wait for an opinion from their next manager, and in case Antonio Conte is confirmed, it’s claimed that he thinks the player is not a priority and all that money shouldn’t be spent on him.
Earlier today, we’ve seen claims from Italy saying Inter Milan only want to pay €5-6m for Matteo Darmian from Manchester United.
So it looks like the club are really looking for a cheap option for the right-back position.
