Scoring four goals in his first four league games this season, it seemed like 2015-16 might be Bafétimbi Gomis’ year.
However, the former Lyon striker quickly lost his goalscoring touch and went nearly four months without a goal, scoring only two from August onwards.
This lack of form has led to suggestions Swansea might be looking to offload him, and at 30 years of age, time could be running out for them to get decent money out of him.
However, Gomis could end up staying in the Premier League after all, as Everton, who are about to lose Lukaku, could bring the Frenchman him to supplant the Belgian short-term, only if they cannot find something better.
At least, that’s how we see it, as a Lukaku sale would bring in a lot of money to the Toffees, and with a new owner backing them with quite a substantial amount of funds, they might end up aiming higher than Bafétimbi Gomis.
