Barcelona are about to close the deal to sign Manchester City attacker Ferran Torres, according to the latest reports from Catalonia.
Outlet Sport comes up with claims saying the player is ‘very close’ to joining the Camp Nou side in the January transfer window.
Their story claims that the talks between the clubs are ‘very advanced’ and an announcement could be made ‘in the coming hours’.
Sport points out that even though Manchester City were initially demanding €75m for the sale, the fee will be actually closer to the €45m which Barcelona wanted to pay in the first place.
Ferran Torres joined Manchester City in a €28m deal from Valencia in 2020, having made 43 appearances for Pep Guardiola’s side so far.
With Barcelona having limited options for the upcoming transfer windows, the Spaniard became one of their big priorities, with the rumours of a move getting bigger this month. Now it seems the agreement was finally done.
Mundo Deportivo are reporting similar, with them explaining negotiations are in the final stages, and the move is now ‘very hot’. Optimism has grown in the past few hours and it’s thought a deal is on the verge of happening.
Well known Catalan journalist Gerard Romero has tweeted to say that the transfer is 99.9% done.
