Last summer, the Brazilian media repeatedly reported on Nottingham Forest interest in Flamengo star Pedro.
The English club weren’t able to get a deal over the line, but the striker is still on their agenda.
Journalist Venê Casagrande took to X, formerly known as Twitter, to state that Nottingham Forest have a ‘long-standing’ interest in the 27-year-old.
He says Nuno Espírito Santo’s side have sent a formal offer of €20m to the Brazilian club.
This claim is backed up by TNT Sports in Brazil, who also state that Premier League side have tabled a €20m bid for the player. They then provide their own information on the Reds’ transfer pursuit.
It’s claimed the chances of the Brazilian club accepting Nottingham Forest’s offer are ‘quite low’.
Pedro’s contract lasts until December 2027, and includes a release clause of €100m for clubs in Brazil and €60m for foreign clubs.
Nottingham Forest’s offer is €40m short and TNT Sports say Flamengo president Rodolfo Landim will only let the frontman leave if his clause is activated. Even if that is questionable, €20m is perhaps not close enough.
Pedro has starred for Flamengo this year, managing 29 goals and eight assists from 42 games.
