Liverpool manager Jurgen Klopp spoke to the Brazilian media after the 3-1 win over Newcastle United on Saturday.

Although it was the away side who opened the scoring, the Reds managed a great comeback, with a lot of credit going to Roberto Firmino, who despite starting on the bench, still made two great assists for their second and third goals.

After speaking about the performance, Klopp was asked by reporter Natali Gedra about the striker’s game, and could only give praise.

“The man of the match, Bobby Firmino, he’s helped a little bit in some kind of situations. He was obviously in a good mood. He looked really fresh. We need him of course. We know that. But we have to be from time to time sensible and leave him out. That’s what we did, but when he came on, it looked like he could’ve played from the start,” Jurgen Klopp told ESPN Brasil.

Asked if Firmino is a world class player, Klopp said: “He is. He is. It’s all about the people, it’s all about the taste of the people, what their feeling is, what they think is spectacular. If you’re really a football person, you can’t not appreciate what he’s doing. If you’re only a time to time supporter, you can think ‘he might be better, he’s better’. But if you’re really a football person, then you know about his value. We’re really happy to have him here.”

Roberto Firmino has also spoken to ESPN Brasil after the match.

But even when speaking to journalists from his home country, the striker is still unbelievably shy, so there isn’t much to take from his interview apart from him saying the team will keep working to get more wins. The Brazilian now has two goals and five assists in seven games for the Reds this season.
