Filip Lesniak joined the Tottenham Hotspur youth system in January 2012. The then 16 year old moved from his native Slovakia with the intention of making it at Spurs.
Few manage to make the step up to Premier League football, even if the percentage is more under Mauricio Pochettino at Tottenham, but Lesniak did manage to get an appearance against Leicester City last season.
That was to be the youngster’s only taste, apart from some minutes in Hong Kong, with his contract running out in the summer. However, the now 21 year old has got himself a reasonable new club.
Danish newspaper Ekstra Bladet report that Lesniak is signing for AaB, a Danish Superliga club. Ekstra Bladet say the midfielder is on the verge of signing a three year contract with the Danish side.
Lesniak has been keen to find first team football and he’ll hope to do that at AaB, just coming from Tottenham means he’ll arrive with a big reputation already.
