After recent claims linking him with a move to Wolverhampton Wanderers, Fenerbahce midfielder Josef de Souza has given an ultimatum to the board over extending his contract.
Last week it was reported in Turkey Wolves are still interested in Souza after being linked with a move for the player earlier in this transfer window.
Fotomac report Josef has told the Fenerbahce board that’s he’s had offers from European and Brazilian clubs, but remains open to extending his contract with the Yellow Canaries.
The Brazilian midfielder reportedly told Fenerbahce sporting director Damien Comolli: “We need to take care of this thing (contract extension) before it’s too late. If we do that, my head will be very clear going into next season.”
Despite Souza’s wishes, Fenerbahce sporting director Damien Comolli is in no rush to offer the Wolves target a new contract and Fotomac say selling the 29 year old remains an option for the Turkish giants.
These aren’t the first reports the Turkish side would be willing to offload the player this summer, which could give Wolves a chance of signing him.
We recently covered reports say Fenerbahce are looking to sell Souza and that Wolves are in the mix to sign him.
The Premier League side were initially were linked with the South American after claims last month Wolves were lining up an offer.
