Argentine side Velez Sarsfield have many issues to worry about this week, as on Wednesday night, they play the first leg of Copa Libertadores’ semifinals against Flamengo.

It turns out that while TNT Sports shares the team news, they have to speak about a player who could soon be leaving the club. That’s Máximo Perrone, who’s reportedly wanted by Wolverhampton Wanderers.

Wolves’ chase for the player has been covered by the local press in the past week, and journalist Ivan Gorza now comes up to back up that Bruno Lage’s side ‘asked’ about the 19-year-old lately.

Just like other reports, TNT Sports claims that no official bids have been submitted so far. And the interesting information they add is about Perrone’s price, claiming he could leave Velez Sarsfield for only US$10m (£8.5m), which is the price of his release clause. So that undoubtedly makes it easier for the Molineux club.

However, for those who hope the transfer is done this week, that continues to be unlikely. Velez Sarsfield are hopeful they can get to the Copa Libertadores final, and Perrone continues to be in their plans, despite being ruled out of Wednesday’s match with an injury. So Wolves should have to wait at least until January.
