Wolves have been back all over the European media this week, following their win against Chelsea which ended a poor run in the Premier League.
They’ve been grabbing the Portuguese headlines, with claims of an impending move for Portimonense’s Shoya Nakajima, a report from A Bola citing interest in young Porto defender Diogo Queiros, and O Jogo saying the club are convinced to trigger Raul Jimenez’s €38m buying option.
Then there was also a claim in France that three players at Ligue 1 club Lille have caught the eye of Wolves scouts and become of transfer interest.
Saturday is relatively quiet, and in Portugal it’s just Jimenez getting a Wolves article.
On Friday, O Jogo put the clause at €38m, but today Record have it as €35m.
It’s €38m, Record should now that… given Benfica officially released the figures in the summer.
Despite the claims, it’s hard to believe Wolves will just pay the agreed amount, because it seems overpriced and there’s no harm in trying for a discount. It’s pretty certain no other club is going to be paying almost €40m for Raul Jimenez at this stage, so it makes sense for Wolves to pull the figure down.
