Wolverhampton Wanderers striker Raul Jimenez is now a doubt for Mexico’s international friendly against Chile this Tuesday.
As reported by Mexican outlets Record and Esto, the 27-year-old has left training camp late on Sunday with a bag, with no clear reason why.
That’s why his presence is no longer certain in tomorrow’s game, especially because these same outlets still didn’t get a response for his departure.
Jimenez had played for 39 minutes in the friendly against Costa Rica on Friday, and scored a goal in the 3-2 win.
As the local media tries to find more news about the case, it’s more likely that things will only become clear when manager Ricardo Ferretti gives a press conference tonight.
Raul Jimenez has been having a good season with two goals and three assists in eight games for Wolves this season, and would surely be missed in case he’s unfit to play against Watford this weekend.
There had been suggestions from Mexico they’d let some Europe based players leave before the Chile match, and, whilst the local Mexican media isn’t saying so, that seems the likeliest scenario.
