Rui Patricio has been linked with a move to AS Roma since not long after it was announced Jose Mourinho will manage the club from this summer.

The Wolves goalkeeper is represented by Gestifute, and that’s thought to be an advantage should Mourinho move for the signing.

Gazzetta dello Sport report the Patricio option is one which has climbed the list for Roma ‘in the past few hours’. They state the Wolves player’s experience and cost are both attractive for the Serie A club.

Whilst Patricio’s experience cannot be questioned, Gazzetta don’t state any figures for the cost of a transfer and it’s unlikely Wolves would let their stopper go for a nominal fee.

That said, his contract expires in June 2022, and at 33-years-of-age he may be tempted by a new adventure, especially with Nuno Espirito Santo leaving the Premier League club.

Whoever takes over will surely want a say in what happens with regards to Patricio, and should the goalkeeper leave then a replacement will have to be brought in.

Roma are trying to offload Robin Olsen, who spent the last season on loan at Everton, and there’s also doubt around Pau Lopez’s future.
