Wolverhampton Wanderers striker Fabio Silva is set to leave PSV Eindhoven and return to Molineux this summer, even on a temporary basis.

That’s according to journalist Rik Elfrink, who says he has spoken to the striker’s agent’s about where he will end up in the coming months.

Silva has been on loan with PSV since the January transfer window, when he cut short a loan deal at Anderlecht in favour of moving to the Netherlands until the end of the season.

He’s been a hit at the club, managing five goals and two assists in 19 games and establishing himself as a key player under Ruud van Nistelrooy.

Every indication has been that PSV would prefer to keep him next season, or even sign him on a permanent basis if Wolves are open to any deal.

At the moment that does not appear likely to happen, though, with Elfrink reporting that the player’s management ‘confirm that he is leaving’ when asked on the matter.

According to him, PSV have made it clear that they have indicated they want to make another choice for their forward line next season as they want to ‘grow transfer value’.

In other words, they’d prefer to buy a player and develop him than loan Silva from Wolves.

Thus, ‘no talks have been scheduled’ this week between PSV, Silva or Wolves on the matter and he will instead be returning to Molineux this summer, leaving Julen Lopetegui with a big decision to make when it comes to the young striker.
