Today is the first day of FC Porto’s preseason training, which means there’s photographers at the club’s training ground and Portuguese journalists waiting to see any hints about transfers.
There’s been a change in management, with Nuno Espirito Santo edged out after failing to win any silverware. Porto’s failings were made to look a little better by Sporting’s horrid season, but more was expected from Nuno given he’d kept hold of several key players for a further season.
Sérgio Conceição is the new man in charge, having impressed at Nantes, and the first day of preseason is the first chance for the former Porto player to really get to work.
One man there’s a lot of doubt over is Willy Boly, destined to move to Wolves according to the Portuguese media. Record were insistent on Sunday that a loan move is happening, even if the exact terms haven’t been agreed yet, and are of the same opinion of Monday.
Boly had to turn up at Porto training on Monday, and O Jogo report he did that, picturing him looking rather glum in a car.

When Boly arrived at training, he was separated from the group of players actually starting preseason. There’s no indication whether this is because of the Wolves move, which would be the likeliest reason, or whether it’s due to injury.
There’s every chance Boly isn’t pleased with the situation, having turned down a move to the Championship a year ago, when he moved from Braga to Porto. The defender may not be keen to give up that dream just yet, but it seems Porto have made the decision for him.
