Wolverhampton Wanderers’ interest in Grêmio star Pepê continues to be reported by the media, but the move still looks unlikely.
Last night, Brazilian outlet Globo Esporte brought a story about how good the winger has been in the current Copa Libertadores campaign, and claimed that Grêmio are blocking the attempts from European sides who want to sign him, adding that he has offers from Atalanta, Porto and Wolves.
Regarding the Molineux side, Globo Esporte writes that the club ‘made contacts and started negotiating’ for the player, but no official bids are reported by them.
In another story from Rádio Grenal, Wolves’ interest in Pepê is also highlighted, although they’re mostly focused on the chase from Porto, who seem to be coming stronger for him.
The thing is that Grêmio continue to resist, and club president Romildo Bolzan Júnior told the outlet that ‘Pepê isn’t leaving’.
The Portuguese media has been insisting that Wolves put an offer of €15m on the table, but that apparently wasn’t enough to convince Grêmio.
