Wolverhampton Wanderers have joined the race for Napoli midfielder Allan after super-agent Jorge Mendes ‘joined the deal’.
Allan has been heavily linked with a move away from Napoli this summer, with it believed the Serie A side will undergo something of an overhaul under Gennaro Gattuso.
The Brazilian has seen his relationship with the club deteriorate since last year when he failed to secure a move to Paris Saint Germain, while an increasingly peripheral role under Gattuso has only helped to worsen the situation.
The Premier League has appeared his most likely destination, with Everton continually linked since the January transfer window because of Carlo Ancelotti.
However, it appears there is now a new suitor in Wolves, who, according to RAI Sport journalist Ciro Venerato, are interested because of Jorge Mendes.
As we know, Mendes has something of a controlling interest at Molineux, having sent several of his clients there, and is now seemingly looking to get Allan to make the move too.
“Midfield? Allan will go away,” he told Radio Kiss Kiss Napoli, relayed by Mondo Napoli.
“Vlasic can arrive who is a different player, more of a dribbler, but it would seem that Napoli wants a midfielder like this and not in the ‘Allan’ mould.
“For the Brazilian, Jorge Mendes has also joined the deal, he will try to bring him to the Premier League. There’s Everton, Wolverhampton and another club.”
