Arriving on a free from Barcelona SC Guayaquil in Ecuador in January, Leonardo Campana has yet to make his debut for Wolverhampton Wanderers.
He featured on the bench in the Europa League games against Espanyol, but never came on, and while that was promising, any chance of getting his first minutes under Nuno Espírito Santo at Molineux disappeared when the Covid-19 outbreak happened.
Following procedures like everyone, Campana, however, didn’t manage to escape the virus, as he told his followers on Instagram on Wednesday, relayed by La Hora, he tested positive two weeks ago.
In his update, the forward allayed any fears by ensuring he was now feeling fine, and urged those watching to stay at home.
He also explained he would be helping those in need of food and medicine in Ecuador during these trying times through the Fundación Campana.
Before his move to Wolves, the 19-year-old Ecuador international had made 21 appearances for Barcelona SC Guayaquil, scoring four goals and assisting another three.
