After the end of the last season, Andre Gomes informed Barcelona he wants to leave the Camp Nou.
Failing to find a new club, Ernesto Valverde included him in the preseason tour to the US, but the player had to return to Europe after suffering an injury setback that will keep him out of action for four weeks.
Sport now claims West Ham United are interested in the midfielder and have been informed first hand about his state. The Hammers are keen on securing his services and ‘want the deal’ before the transfer window in England closes on August 9th.
The Premier League club will not pay a transfer fee, instead they will take the Portuguese international on loan which will also include a purchase option. The La Liga winners want the 25-year-old to join Manuel Pellegrini’s side, but the player would prefer a return to Valencia, who only want to sign him on straight loan.
Barcelona have made it clear to Gomes that he cannot join the Spanish club on loan and are pressuring him to move to England. Sport believes the ex-Benfica man’s future will be at West Ham.
