Olympiacos beat AEK in the Athens derby on Sunday, thanks to goals from Ruben Semedo and Mady Camara, as they moved to the top of the league after eight games.
According to Sdna.Gr, a ‘parade of scouts’ were present at the Georgios Karaiskakis Stadium with West Ham United one of the clubs said to have sent an official.
There’s no indication who the Hammers were watching and it seems this was just a general scouting trip, with several interesting options.
Along with West Ham, it’s reported Lyon, Saint Etienne, Eintracht Frankfurt and Feyenoord sent scouts as they checked on some of Olympiacos’ players, including Daniel Podence, Mady Kamara, Konstantinos Tsimikas, Andreas Bouchalakis and Georgios Masuras.
Podence has been linked with a move to Arsenal in recent weeks by the Greek press and now it’s reported a number of clubs are showing interest.
Mady Camara, who scored the second goal of the game, has been linked with a move to German side Eintracht Frankfurt, whist left-back Konstantinos Tsimikas has been impressing with his performances this season.
