West Ham United return with ‘revised offer’ for signing – ‘Still insufficient’ as club want ‘more money’

So far, Chelsea, Tottenham Hotspur, Newcastle United, Leicester City and West Ham United have been linked with Hugo Ekitike.

On January 11th, we carried a report from Le10 Sport, who explained the Hammers are the only club to have made a €15m offer for the Reims player.

It was also stated both the Ligue 1 side and the 19-year-old’s family are ‘taking time to reflect’.

According to a latest report from Le10 Sport, David Moyes’ side ‘won’t let go’ of the striker, who has managed eight goals and three assists in 18 league matches this season.

It’s claimed the French club did not accept West Ham’s €15m proposal. Therefore, they have ‘returned to charge’ with a ‘revised offer’ of €25m, including bonuses. Unfortunately for the Premier League side, their latest offer is ‘still insufficient’ for Reims.

Ekitike’s contract runs down in 2024 and as per the report, his employer believe they can get ‘more money’ from the player’s sale. Le10 doesn’t mention what fee would be needed to convince Reims.

Earlier this month, LMC Sport journalist Loic Tanzi explained Reims want a fee of €30m, €10m in achievable bonuses, 25 percent of a potential future sale and to have the attacker loaned back to them until the end of the season.
