Despite some hope late last week that West Ham United could be on the verge of signing Mohammed Kudus from Ajax Amsterdam, that no longer appears to be the case.
The latest comes from Patrick Berger in Germany, who took to Twitter to reveal that, ‘for now’, a transfer taking the Ghana international from the Eredivisie to the Hammers ‘is close to being off’.
He explains that it is a ‘complicated situations’ as both West Ham and Ajax are ‘struggling to agree’ on what will be the transfer fee.
This was already reported earlier by the English media, but there was hope a deal could still be struck.
However, as time has gone by, it appears that won’t be the case, and if West Ham do not buy him, that will be the second time a club have failed to sign Kudus this summer, after Brighton encountered similar issues.
This comes after Lucas Paqueta saw a deal taking him to the Etihad collapse, although he didn’t seem to show too much frustration over the weekend as he scored in the 3-1 win over Chelsea.
For now a transfer of Mohammed Kudus (23/🇬🇭) to West Ham is close to being off. Complicated situation as both clubs – #WUFC and Ajax Amsterdam – struggling to agree. Could be next Kudus-deal to collapse after Brighton.
