West Ham United summer signing Niclas Füllkrug has admitted he still needs time to adapt to the Premier League and get up to speed.
The striker has been speaking at DFB headquarters in Herzogenaurach ahead of the international break, covered by Sport 1.
Füllkrug made the move to West Ham in a €27m deal in the summer as part of the Hammers major rebuild under new manager Julen Lopetegui.
He is the latest big money striker to arrive at the club over the last few years, with the position having been a problem one that the club have been unable to solve.
The goals are yet to come at West Ham, though, were he has so far not managed to find the back of the net or even established himself as a starter.
Questions are already being raises, as is often the case with strikers who don’t start scoring goals from the offset, but Füllkrug is not concerned and instead insists that he just needs time to get up to speed.
“A move abroad is different than moving from Bremen to Dortmund,” he said.
“I still need a little time to settle in. Like some of my teammates. (It’s) more physical and dynamic, but less tactical. It’s another dream, I’m comfortable.”
